SUPERMAN!

on our way back from dave & jenna's in salem, illinois we came upon a tourist trap that we could not help but stop by and see. 1) it was super funny to us 2) sean loves super heroes 3) we needed to get out of the car and stretch our legs and 4) it was super funny to us
did i mention we thought it was super funny? right off the highway was the town of metropolis, illinois... you know, home of superman ;)
the town was super small with nothing there... except for that HUGE superman statue, a souvenir shop, and a museum (that we didn't go in). sean thought it was the coolest. place. ever.
i mean, come on, this guy was flying out of the building!
the town newspaper is actually called the "daily planet." the boys had to stop for the photo op by in the phone booth
tour buses actually stop there. in fact, a tour bus full of women in their 50's (i assume) was there while we were walking around. did i mention we thought it was super funny?
i feel so fulfilled now that we stopped at the home of "the great american hero"

My mom and some friends stopped through on their way to Kentucky recently and laughed too. It's such a silly little place to visit! :)
