so i just got finished reading the shack, and it blew my mind away. now, many people told me that it would, but i just wasn't prepared for what i was about to encounter as i opened the book for the first time. if you have not read it yet, i highly recommend it. for me to say it's an awesome book is one feat, but what you don't know is the fact that i actually finished the book is another! i have probably read 5 books from front to back in the last 5 years... no joke.
ultimately this book completely changed my view on my relationship with God. so often we always think God is just waiting to get us... you know what i mean. He's watching, waiting for us to mess up so He can get upset with us. but that is not the case at all. is that how i view my children? absolutely not! do i hate it when they mess up and i have to punish them? of course! so why would we think that God, our Heavenly Father, would think differently of us?
i would actually write a lot more about the book but i don't want to give anything away for those who haven't read it (although i will say that i just fell in love with "papa!"). but i seriously think you should go out and buy it, borrow it from a friend, or head to your library and check it out. it'll own you.
if you have read the shack, please give me some feedback on what you got out of it. if you haven't read it, is there a book that has really changed your life (besides the Bible)? if so, what book?? feel free to comment and share with me!

Is it fiction? Is it scary? Is it sad? Is it funny? I must know these things:)
it is fiction, not scary, sad in some parts, not really funny... it's a story of a man's interpretation of his encounter with God. blow. your. mind. good. lol
You got my attention. I'm not much or a reader, but this sounds very interesting. May have to take a peek.
First thanks for coming to my blog and I have to say again how much I love your I heart faces pics this week... so great!
You asked about living overseas as a missionary with two small kiddos, it is hard but it is exactly where God wants me to be. So, it feels right and normal and good. I do miss family, friends, and Target :) Getting good deals on things... everything here is expensive, and it is annoying. I also miss restaurants and foods you cannot get here. I love that our kiddos are learning a different language so young, but wish it was a more useful language...but it is a second language nonetheless!
I read the Shack, and it was good. I enjoyed it and it does give a clear representation of how God loves us. He does, unconditionally and does pursue us. A great book that I loved was a series by Francine Rivers... it literally rocked my view of the early church and Christians and faith in God... absolutely amazing. I read a lot though... hopefully you can get through this series, they are great books and speak a lot of truths in fiction form like the Shack. It is the Mark of the Lion series... seriously, amazing!
I was just looking for a new book! Thank you!
